Review Xpress Design Details
I am so excited to finally get to share this project with you for a few reasons. It has a pretty special place in my heart because it was our first big LOCAL CLIENT, and it was for someone that I actually knew.
Let me start by telling you a little bit about the client. Alyssa, is the sister of a lifelong friend of mine, and she started her own business a couple of years ago doing permit expediting for residential and commercial builders. Her business is 100% operated by family and they handle every aspect of the permit expediting process in house! When she initially came to us, she just wanted a website created. After a little bit of discussion about her needs, she decided that she wanted to just go for it! We were now officially re-branding her business, building a website, doing photography, and designing printed collateral. This was going to be such an exciting project to get to work on!
When we did our first in-person meeting to finalize the details, we went over the feel and everything that she really wanted for her brand. Honestly the moodboard wasn't really necessary, because her brand was in all of the details in her home and office. There was even a painting that literally had her ideal colors all over it! But, you know me and my moodboards! So, we made one anyways.
Between the moodboard, and her painting our color pallet was pretty much set from the beginning. Honestly, this color pallet was so different from the style that I tend to get to work with, and that both excited me and made me nervous! She really loves a vintage aesthetic, so we went with it! Alyssa was in love with it!
Once the color palette was set, it was time to literally hit the drawing board. This is the point where I take all of the inspiration that I have been given, and I spend a day with my sketch pad. It sounds so elegant when I say that, but honestly my drawings look like crap. Haha. It really helps me get all of my ideas out there though and let's me weed through the horrible ones and gather just a few to send.
Typically I only send out two or three ideas. But we were told that we had complete freedom with no requests and just created designs based on our conversation.
Now normally at this point we narrow it down and tweak it until it's perfect. But she saw one she LOVES and didn't want any edits made to from the very beginning! I was shocked, but so excited! So this became our primary logo for Review Xpress!
Can't you see it? The brand is coming together so beautifully at this point!
Once the overall brand was established it was on to the collateral! She started with an email signature and business cards. I won't lie, I am kind of loving the simplicity of these businesses cards.
We ordered them through Moo and they are just dreamy to touch and hold. We will be continually adding to the collateral collection, but these beauties are my absolute favorite!
With Alyssa being local, we got to handle photography as well! This had me so excited because when I say we, I mean Chris. Photography is something that he loves doing and it makes me happy that he gets to put a bit of himself into Tiffany Kuehl Designs as well! He got some really good headshots and a bunch of just branded office shots.
Our last step in the project was the part that we had all been waiting for! The website! This website just proves that you do not have to have a ton of information to get your point across! It's tells you who she is, what she does, and who she serves all while being just a little bit different.
One of the things that I like about this website, heck about this brand, is that it's simple and to the point! There are some fun little elements added to each thing that we did, but it is every bit of Alyssa and her dream at Review Xpress!
