How A Moodboard Can Really Help With Your Branding
If you have been following along for any time at all, you know that I LOVE moodboards! I love the process that goes into making them. I love being able to share them, and the client just gets it. I love getting to look at them as I continue to work on the project. I am a super visual person, so moodboards are seriously just my jam!
But there is one question that I have been asked several times, and this is the perfect opportunity to answer that for you!
"So, how does a moodboard really help with my brand?"
I'm sure that this process is different for everyone, but I use the process of creating a moodboard to get to know you better and gain a little bit of brand clarity before we dive deep into the project. With each project, I give a free pdf (you can get the same pdf when you sign up for our newsletter.) and we go over the answers together after you are done with it. But, one of the steps in the pdf is to come up with adjectives to describe your business. We then use those adjectives to find images to use on your board. I have honestly found that this process helps provide us both some much-needed clarity about your business, and they style that you want your brand to have. Once your board has been finalized, I always think it is fun to share it on social media to help build hype around the fact that you are creating a new brand, or rebranding.
We aren't done with it at this point though. After the main moodboard image has been created, I used the board to help define your color pallet! Talk about multiple uses right?
I also keep this image up in Illustrator as I work on any component of your project, this way I know that I am keeping it all cohesive in terms of style.
Honestly, a moodboard has SO MANY PURPOSES. For me, it is a great visual representation of your brand that I use for inspiration. Also to help keep myself on track in your brand, and a great way to get to know you and your style a little bit better. It's this reason that we have almost every single client go through this process with us.
If you are considering a re-brand, but just aren't there yet financially, or you just need to do a little digging into your brand beforehand then a moodboard could definitely help you! We do happen to offer them a la carte, and have so much fun making them!
