Baby You're A Firework!
Oh my gosh! Has it really been a month since I have posted last? I can't think of any better way to come back with a BANG than with a post about our 4th of July.
It honestly could not have been a better day as far as the weather goes. You always worry a little that, when you make plans, the weather is basically going to just say "screw you" and not cooperate. But yesterday was GORGEOUS! Because it was so pretty, and it was the 4th of July, we didn't want to stay indoors....
Would you??? Nope, I didn't think so!
We got Sydney all decked out in her red, white, and blue and then decided to do her hair as well. Chris had seen this hairstyle on facebook and pointed it out to me. I figured we may as well give it a shot, and it turned out so freaking cute! I loved it! She loved it to, and as we left for the park she was in a great mood!
We just wanted to get out of the house and go take a few pictures. So two parks later, and lots of sunshine, we got a few really cute ones that I love. I don't know what I would do without my Hubby to take pictures like these. To say that I suck at photos is a major understatement!
After photos we came home and it was nap time. While she was napping Chris filled up her pool and we sat outside just having fun for a couple of hours. Am I the only one who has a child that loves to splash, but will freak the hell out if she happens to get splashed????
Then came the typical 4th of July cookout meal of burgers, brats, corn on the cob, and potato salad. It was way to good and I ate WAY to much of that last item. lol. But I couldn't let a food coma keep me down because we had big plans!!!
This was the first year that we have attempted to take Sydney to actually see the fireworks. Two years ago we thought she was finally old enough to like them, but she was terrified of the ones we set off at the house. So last year we tried setting them off here again and she loved them. We just knew that this would be our year! We were keeping Sydney up late and taking her to see the big ones. She was so excited! Then we got there early and found a spot with the perfect view and she was slightly less excited! You would have thought we were torturing her by making her wait and ,even though we were promising that they were starting soon and she would LOVE them, we started having a major grumpapotamus on our hands. So what else would we do but buy her cotton candy! lol. She perked up and right about that time they started. She LOVED them! It was so cute to hear Chris tell her that some of them looked like pixie dust floating in the sky. Can I just say how much I love that man, and I love watching him be the most amazing Daddy ever to our little girl???!!! About thirty minutes in you could see her body relax. It was already 10:00 at this point. We told her that she just had to tell us when she was ready to go. About 30 seconds later she was ready.
I was so happy that we finally got to experience something like that as a family. It's one of those nights that I don't think I will ever forget.
