Just like so many of you, I have a love for HGTV. I have always loved Rehab Addict (even though that is technically a DIY show), but their newest show FIXER UPPER is seriously one of my favorite shows right now.
First of all, let me just say that Chip and Joanna are so freaking adorable. They are a married couple that helps people find houses that have seen better days, and then they fix them up and turn them into something incredible. Joanna is a designer with her own company called Magnolia Homes and Chip is in construction. I love that they show bits of their life in the show too. Their adorable children make appearances on almost every episode, along with the family pets. They live in an an old farm house that they remodeled, and they even bring their clients out to the house to look at the details there. You really kind of fall in love with them on the show.
Then there is the simple fact that I LOVE Joanna's style! Watching this show has really taught me so much about my own style. I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to live in a farm house. They just have so much charm. Then to add in the fact that the style we like fits in so well in those homes, and that they usually come with land... I am SOLD! I love idea of a farm sink, perfectly imperfect concrete countertops, simple fixtures with Edison bulbs, and open shelving for upper cabinetry. I love the idea of finding elements that may not necessarily be new, but just make the space. The idea a fixer upper that we can make our own just sounds so fun! So this show really just hits home with me.
