Doing Fitness My Way
This is a twelve week program that is meant to teach you the basics of lifting weights and clean eating. It is honestly such a great program and I have lost around 15 pounds doing it. I made it through week 11, then I ended up taking a couple of weeks off. After that long of a break I am just really not comfortable going right back to that intensity of a workout. Plus six days a week was just getting too hard for me. So, as much as I hate to say it... I won't be completing the 12th week of the program.
This doesn't mean I am giving up on myself and my fitness. Sunday I got up early and decided to get my butt in gear and get used to going to the gym again. Two weeks is seriously more than enough to lose that habit! I got up, got dressed, had a banana and some green tea, and kissed my loved ones as I walked out the door. I walked into the gym and I wasn't entirely sure what I would be doing since I woke up thinking I would try week 12, but changed my mind. I ended up doing 25 minutes of yoga, 20 minutes of cardio, and squats. Sunday was all about loosening my body up, and it felt so good. Then on Monday I decided to do a workout at home because I just never made it to the gym. Pinterest is actually a great source of quick workouts that require no equipment. When I go back to the gym I will hit the weights again using what I have learned from the program as a base. I have to admit that I am nervous about not having an exact schedule or routine, but I think it will really help me learn more about my body and what I like to do instead of what my plan tells me to do.
I may go back and do this program again at a later time, because I really did enjoy it. But for right now I am just doing fitness my way.
