Please tell me that I am not the only one who feels this way...
When I talk to all of you, and I think of all of my blogging friends, I feel like this blogging community is so large. I mean each and every one of us is from a different town, in a different city, and a different state. So we should be all over... I mean everyone blogs right?!?
Much like the TARDIS, blogging just seems to be bigger on the inside. If you don't get this reference then you HAVE to watch DOCTOR WHO!!
When your logged on and reading your favorite blogs, the blogging world seems like it's all over. But then step into reality and it's something that is just so tiny. Honestly, sometimes I feel like I live in the tiny town that time forgot. When I mention blogging to some people, it is like you can literally see their eyes glaze over because they have absolutely no idea what I am saying. Then if I ever tell them that I design blogs for a living they just look blank. Lol. So now I just tell people that I am a web designer.
I know that there are so many of us out there that live in, or are from, some pretty small towns. I thought I grew up in a small town in Georgia. Then I moved here and I realized that even the smaller of towns there are bigger than the average town here. But there people seemed to be more technologically advanced than where I live now. Not having a computer is fairly common for some people here. So forget Instagram and Twitter, much less blogging.
I was actually talking to a friend of mine at story time the other week and I mentioned work. Then she mentioned that she has a blog, but it's private and it's just your standard blogger blog. But I was FLOORED that she even had one! She is the first person I have met in person who has one and doesn't think I am nuts!!
Please tell me that I am not wrong. Tell me that blogging is just bigger on the inside. Tell me I didn't really move to a town where time stopped ten years ago.
